Challenges of the Legal Profession a Result of the Revision of the Free Trade Agreements in the International Context
Recently, different free trading and economic integration models have been submitted to review under protectionist and populist visions. In spite of this, Mexico remains attractive to investment like most Latin American countries.
The seminar aims to illustrate the challenges of reviewing international treaties such as NAFTA, TPP and Brexit and which could be in practice, the potential collateral effects in these jurisdictions.
Different aspects will be approached in this seminar, such as the review of NAFTA and its negotiations, especially those in the subjects of rules of origin, unfair trade practices and the dispute resolution.
We will also analyze the new chapters aimed to upgrade and modernize these international trade relations, such as e-commerce, labor relations and intellectual property.
We will also study the vehicles and current legal structures to implement investments and their protection under these treaties.
Faced with this imminent future, we will analyze how, under this economic integration reviewing procedure, the rule of law is threatened by corruption and migration flows and the new system and framework of anti-corruption as a model to solve this problem.
