UIA Webinar - Information and Disinformation
Webinar presented by the UIA Privacy & Rights of the Digital Person, Litigation and Media Law commissions
This topic will be split into three webinars with expert speakers considering:
  • the changing landscape for international personal data transfers as a result of the impact of the Schrems II decision and the subsequent regulatory and government measures being taken to deal with this;
  • the increasing level of enforcement action by regulators when organisations fail to comply with applicable data protection law, and the growth of litigation relating to these incidents;
  • and unlawful content on social media and elsewhere in the digital space, in particular the way that large technology companies are policing and are being expected to police disinformation and misinformation on the platforms they provide.
Our three panels will consider the legal and regulatory background but, most importantly, the practical steps that can be taken to manage the challenges posed by a world increasingly impacted by information and disinformation.
