Capsule organised by the UIA Women’s Committee on the occasion of the International Women's Day.In this capsule, which will take place on the occasion of the International Women's Day, we will tackle the role of the Bar Associations in combating violence against women, and in particular concerning access to justice for the victims.This current issue requires an urgent response from all of us, with the support of the UIA and its collective members, in order to put an end to this flagrant violation of women’s rights and safety.In fact, one of the most devastating and deplorable impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the lockdowns that were imposed to contain it, was the increase in cases of violence against women.Planning and preparing the post Covid-19 recovery must address this situation and our capsule will lead to identify measures needed for combating violence against women and determine the most efficient ways to apply them.We will also launch the working group which will follow up the implementation of these measures.
This Capsule will be held in English, French and Spanish with summaries in the 3 languages
